By Morning I had a nasty cough, my body hurt all over from the coughing. I was hoping someone would come out soon and feed us, but no one came. As the day drug on my coughing was getting worse, still no one showed up. So far we missed dinner and breakfast and by the looks of it we will be missing tonight's dinner as well. The next morning the broker lady came down to the barn with another lady she looked real nice she stood at my stall door smiling in at me and saying how cute I was. Next thing I knew the broker was shoving my still tender face into a halter and leading me out with my friend to the round pen, it felt so good to get outside into the warmth and fresh air. I was still stiff but it did feel good to prance around, as my barn buddy just plodded along behind me, I could see his sadness in the way he moved, my heart went out to him. When I turned around I saw that the broker was walking away with that other lady. Soaking up as much sun and fresh air as I could we were taken back to the barn, it was still dark and cold in there, my coughing started up again all threw the day and into the evening no one came down to feed us we were so hungry. The next day a big trailer backed up to the barn, was someone else coming here??? Was it mommy???? Was I going back to Mommy???? As my stall door opened the broker jerked my head around while dragging me into the trailer as soon as I was in the back door slammed shut. page 5 |
